Ware Shoals, S.C. Harold Leland Madden, Sr., 71, husband of Carolyn Bowie Madden of 242 Brissey Rock Road, died Monday, February 23, 2009 at Hospice House, Greenwood.
He was born in Laurens County, a son of Lula Bell King Madden of Ware Shoals and the late Dennis J. Madden, Sr. He was retired from Clinton Mills and attended Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving besides his wife of the home are: a son, Leland Madden and wife Susan, Greenwood, three daughters, Debbie Pinson and husband, Rev. Billy Pinson, Iva, SC Sherri Mathis and husband Frank, Greenwood and Melanie “Puff” Matthews of the home.

Also, two brothers, Dennis Madden, Jr. and Roger Dale Madden both of Ware Shoals;
Three sisters, Margaret Riser, Clinton, Shelby Wilkie, Laurens, Toby Hembree, Gray Court,
Grandchildren. Jason Madden and wife, Dotcie, Kelly Padget and husband Chuck, Rodney Pinson, Amanda Pinson, Matthew Pinson, Vick Peckham, Blake Matthews and Taylor Matthews, and four great grandchildren, Hayley Madden and Colby Madden, Ashton Laughlin and Madden Padget

He was pre-deceased by a sister, Sharon Madden Wilkerson.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 pm at Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Tommy Wooten and Rev. Billy Pinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

The family will be at the home and will receive friends Tuesday, 7-9 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home.
