James “Cat Butter” Milton Phillips

Honea Path – Mr. James “Cat Butter” Milton Phillips, 72, husband of Betty Ruth Parris Phillips, of 520 Otto Lollis Road, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at his home.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Archieball Tarent and Ethel Lee Roark Phillips. He was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: two sons, Derrick Phillips of Honea Path and Stanley Phillips of Sandy Springs; three brothers, Clyde and Claude Phillips of Honea Path and Jerry Phillips of Sandy Springs; five sisters, Mrs. Ernest “Ruth” Gunnells and Mrs. Leon “Katie” Lollis both of Donalds, Mrs. James “Hazel” Holliday of Belton, Mrs. James “Betty” Malone and Miss Lois Phillips both of Honea Path and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by four brothers; David, Furman, Alton and Bob; and two sisters, Lillie Mae Lollis and Inez Gambrell.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cooper and Rev. James Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will be receiving friends Friday from 6- 8 P.M. at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The family will be at the home of a sister Betty Malone, 449 Otto Lollis Road. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
