KAY ROBINSON


Ware Shoals, S.C. G. Kay Robinson, 83 of 32 North Greenwood Ave. widower of Helen Finley Robinson made his journey to his heavenly home on April 9, 2009. He was born in the Mt. Bethel Community of Anderson County to the late Charles L. and Grace Kay Robinson on April 29, 1926.

Mr. Robinson was a faithful member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, a member of the Callaham-Morgan Sunday School Class and a former deacon and usher. He was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.

He is survived by one brother, Beauford Robinson and wife Dot, Honea Path, and a sister, Gloria Robinson Dawkins, Greenville, a sister-in-law, Katherine “ Tut” Finley, Ware Shoals and niece, Kathy F.Parnell.

Also surviving are those who were a special part of his life are Harold and Carlene Kay, Ware Shoals, James “Conkie” and Bobbie Gordon, Ware Shoals and a very special friend , Carrie Leigh O’Neil, Abbeville.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Charles N. Robinson,

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 am at First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Davis, Mark Mann, R.L. Walters, Mark Strickland, Ed Arnold, Dan Branyon, Johnny King, and James McCurry.

The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the church on Monday, 10 to 11 am.. Mr. Kay spent his last days in National Health Care and Hospice House and the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C., 29646 or to Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, P.O. 449, Ware Shoals, S.C. Parker-White Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
