Kenneth Gambrell

Honea Path - Mr. Kenneth Melvin Gambrell, 64, husband of Kathy Smith Gambrell, of 190 McCullough School Road, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late J. P. and Selma Hamby Gambrell. He was a member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church and was retired from Ellen Woodside Elementary School.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: a son, Jamie Doug Gambrell of Williamston; two daughters, Janice Vaughn of Pelzer and Sherri Hilley of Donalds; three brothers, Doug Gambrell of Honea Path, Jerry Gambrell of Anderson and Howard Gambrell of Atlanta; one sister, Katherine Maryland Kirsey of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Marvin D. Gambrell, Harold Gambrell and Dean Gambrell, and three sisters, Myrna Faye Gambrell, Edna Griffith and Doris Baker.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike King officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P. M. at Pruitt Funeral Home.
