HOBERT GOWAN
Hobert Daniel Gowan, 86, husband of Lucille Emerson Gowan of 12 Sparks Ave.died May 22, 2009 at Hospice of the Piedmont. He was born in Hot Springs, N.C., a son of the late Robert and Alpha Omega Gowan. Mr. Gowan was a World War II veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart.He was a member of Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Surviving besides his wife of the home is a son, Joe Gowan and wife Margaret, Ware Shoals and grandson, Joey Gowan and wife Wendy, Johnson City, Tenn. Also great granddaughter, Riley Gowan and step great granddaughter,Alex Habola
Funeral services will be held Sunday 2 pm at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Randy McClain, Grady Davis, Robert Hall, Billy Sprouse, Uwe Klauck, Marvin Adams, and Howard Branyon.
