Ina K. Mattison

Honea Path – Ina Kanning Mattison, 98, of 122 Erwin Mill Road, widow of Eugene Allen Mattison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 27, 2009.

Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Lee Sr. and Liller Tumblin Kanning. She was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 62 years, a member of the Honey Bees and a past WMU President for many years. She was retired from The Blouse Plant in Ware Shoals after 20 years of service.

Surviving are three sons, Jerry and Larry Joe Mattison of Honea Path and Jimmy Mattison of Anderson; three daughters, Edna Fleming and Elaine Ashley of Honea Path and Wanda Motes of Belton; a brother, Ralph Lee Kanning, Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son Calvin Richard Mattison; a daughter Gloria Landis and a granddaughter Shana Mattison.

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday at Broadmouth Baptist Church with the Rev. T. W. MCGuffin and Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1PM. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
