Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of Doris Owens Godfrey and the late James Wallace Godfrey.
Surviving are his mother of Simpsonville, sister; Cathy Scruggs of Mauldin and brother; James R. Godfrey of Abbeville.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at Parker-White Funeral Home in Ware Shoals at 3 P.M.
