Honea Path – Sallie Anderson Foster, 89, widow of Jack E. Foster, formerly of Oak Drive, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Foothills Presbyterian Home in Easley.

Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late George Ligon and Annie Shirley Anderson. She was a member of the Honea Path Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Sunday School department for many years. She was a school teacher with Anderson District #2 Schools retiring from Belton Middle School. She was active in the community having served with the Honea Path Recreation Association and the Honea Path Cemetery Foundation.

Surviving are a son, Jim Foster and wife Becky of Belton, a daughter, Jane Foster Mayr and husband Richard of Kennisaw, Ga., a brother, G.L. Anderson of Greenwood, a sister, Caroline Scott of Washington D.C., and four grandchildren, Jimmy Foster, Amy Foster, Jeff Mayr, and Brian Mayr. She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Anna Foster, a brother, Joe Anderson, and two sisters, Laura Winn and Sue Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Honea Path Presbyterian Church with Rev. Deborah Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 Tuesday at the Honea Path Presbyterian Church prior to the service. The family is at the home of her son, 837 Austin Rd., Belton.
