Greenwood – Elizabeth Ann Pierce, 57, wife of Jeffrey Scott Pierce of Greenwood, died Monday, February 24 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Belton - Selton "Popeye" McMahan, husband of the late Minnie Lee McCoy McMahan of 2502 Trail Road, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his residence. 

Sybil Carolyn Bannister Bratcher, 89, widow of Marvin Evans Bratcher of Belton, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Lon L. and Florence King Bannister. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and was retired from her work in textiles for Chiquola Mill.

Mrs. Bratcher is survived by two sons: Roger D Bratcher (Barbara) of Belton and Timothy M. Bratcher (Jackie) of Williamston; her daughter Sheila McClain (David) of Belton; her sister Hilda Driver of Belton; six grandchildren: Randy Bratcher, Joey Bratcher (Melonie), Jamie Bratcher, Tricia Bratcher (Alex Stone), Justin McClain (Lindsay Mason) and Kevin McClain (Kayla); ten great-grandchildren: Cohen Bratcher, Clay Bratcher, Tristen Bratcher, Coby Noble, Connor Stone, Chandler Bratcher, Preston McClain, Allie McClain, Brayden McClain and Camden McClain; and three great-great-grandchildren: Steel Bratcher, Stratten Bratcher and Hank Bratcher.

Peggy Lou Davis Hyland, formerly of Honea Path, wife of Forest “Dutie” Hyland, died January 12, 2025 at Ketterink Medical Center in Ohio.

Cathy Faye Bagwell Vaughn, 71, widow of Arthur Hoyt Vaughn of Belton, died Wednesday, January 29 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Ware Shoals-Patricia Addy Lancaster Burton, 87, of Oak Street, widow of Kenneth Paul Burton, Jr., died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, died at her home.
