Maxie Campbell

Maxie Earl Campbell, 70, husband of Shirley Price Campbell, of 500 Taylor Road, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late James Lewis and Olivia Smith Campbell. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church, and was retired from both Torrington and Gus’s Home Center.

In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Campbell is survived by one son: Trampus Campbell (Janet) of Due West; one daughter: Earline Davis (Terry) of Donalds; one step-son: Danny Bone; one step-daughter: Sherry Bone; one step-daughter-in-law: Linda Bone; two brothers: Jim and Edgar Campbell; one sister: Sue Brock; eight grandchildren: Amanda Hamby (Nathan), Jonathon Davis (Kayla), Haley Bone, Nicole Bosko (Bobby), Amy Bone, Samantha Beauford (John Robert), Brooke Campbell, and Te Campbell.

He is preceded in death by one son: Charles Barron Campbell; one step-son: Tony Bone; two brothers: Joe and Clyde Campbell; and five sisters: Grace Brock, Janie Campbell, Cynthia Fleming, Sarah Alewine, and Eva Mae Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, December 11, at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Crocker officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Inspirations Sunday School Class at Broadmouth Baptist Church, 543 Broadmouth Church Rd., Honea Path, SC 29654.

Maude Williams Moore

Honea Path – Maude Elizabeth Williams Moore, 91, widow of Fred Thurman Moore, of 309 Brook St., died Tuesday, December 06, 2016.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Vaudry Johnson and Onie Josephine Hicks Williams. She was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church where she was a choir member for 50 years. She was a member of the Dogwood Garden Club and a charter member of the Entre Nous Club.

Surviving are a son, Fred “Butch” Thurman Moore, II (Joy) of Belton, two daughters, Fredda Elizabeth Moore Gilmer (Billy) of Honea Path and Betty Jo Moore Hall (Wally) of Abbeville, two grandchildren, Kevin Gilmer (Kristie) and Janet Moore, and three great-grandchildren, Kris, Kenny, and Julia.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Earl “Ham” Williams and Jim Williams, and three sisters, Hazel Ellison, Jean Lindley, and Mary Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 9,2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at her home and will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Wallace Scott

Iva - Wallace Kyle Scott, 75, husband of Melody Blondell Scott, of 320 North Rd., Iva, died Monday, October 11, 2016 at Abbeville Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Goss and Helen Hill Scott. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Iva, and was former director of the Abbeville County Employment and Security Commission, retired after over 25 years. He served in the Abbeville unit of the South Carolina National Guard. He was a graduate of Anderson College, served on the Development board of Abbeville County, and was instrumental in helping many gain employment over the years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are one son: Kyle Scott of Iva; one daughter: Janet King (Marty) of Simpsonville; one step-son: Tommy Ethridge of Lavonia, GA; one sister: Kathy Strawhorn (Charles) of Honea Path; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Mike McMillan officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Thursday from 1-2 PM at the church, prior to the service. James “Burlo” Epps

Ware Shoals - James Junior “Burlo” Epps, 83, of 12167 Hwy 25, widower of Judith Earline Loner Epps, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Robert Epps, Sr. and Bernice Holliday Epps. He was a member of the Bethany World Outreach Center in Honea Path, retired from Dixie Container, worked at Riegel Mill and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was active in his church while his health allowed, and loved playing and coaching baseball, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.

Mr. Epps is survived by a sister-in-law, Brenda Epps, many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being predeceased by three brothers, Frankie, Troy and William Epps, and four sisters, Phedonia Cothran, Nan Medlock, Neeta Jordan and Cheryl McGaha.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Bethany World Outreach Center with Rev. Rickey Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of a niece, Tiffany Scogins, 7 Robinson St., Honea Path, and will receive friends from 3-4 PM prior to service on Saturday at Bethany World Outreach Center. Dale Alewine

 

Honea Path – Robert Dale Alewine, 62, of 102 Louisianna Street, husband of Wanda Darlene Lollis, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home.

Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Oscar Lee and Dollie Standridge Alewine. He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Custom Home Specialties. He was twice married, first to the late Diane Lacount Alewine.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: a daughter, Amanda Dale Alewine (Tony Belt) of Inman, a brother, Rannie Jim Alewine of Pelzer, and a special nephew Kaleb Triana of Honea Path. He was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Lee Alewine and three sisters, Gladys Sisum, Janice Gambrell and Mary Ellen Lollis. He also leaves behind his two pet dogs, Buddy and Rosco.

Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Lynch officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1-3 P.M. prior to the service at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel. Laurens – Vickie Diane Campbell Bagwell, 52, widow of the late Marvin Bagwell of 81 Baby Drive, Fountain Inn, formerly of Laurens, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home.

Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late J. W. and Judy Leopard Campbell of Gray Court.

Surviving are: two sons, Bubba and Chris Campbell both of Ware Shoals; one brother, Jackie Campbell of Laurens; five nephews and nieces, Jimmy Mack of Gray Court, Leslie Mack of Laurens, Kim and Miranda Mack both of Rock Hill and Jackie E. Campbell Jr. (Christie) of Laurens; three special great nieces and nephews, Melissa, Megan and Cayson Campbell, and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Rita.
