Honea Path - Mrs. Mattie Sue Weathers Hanks, 72, of 1929 Legion Lake Rd, widow of Wallace Guy Hanks, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late John Carl and Eulala White Weathers. She was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and was retired from Mohawk Carpet.

Surviving are: one son, Scott Haynes of the home; one brother, Howard Weathers and wife Bernice of Belton; two sisters, Allie Mae Campbell of Laurens and Agnes Abercrombie of Fountain Inn; three special nieces, Patricia Nelson, Sandra Wilson and Jackie Weathers and a special friend, Bobby Ashley.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur Lee Weathers and Robert Weathers of Waterloo, Paul Weathers of Ware Shoals, Vernon Weathers of Fountain Inn; three sisters, Margaret Vaughn of Anderson, Ruby Calvert of Honea Path, and Alice Masters of Spartanburg. 

Funeral Services will be held at 3pm Sunday at Broadmouth Baptist with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1PM.  The family will receive friends at the church from 2-3PM.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

Waterloo - Leonard Jerue Cothran, Jr., 63, husband of Ruby Boyter Cothran of 8900 Indian Mound Road died May 31, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Greenwood County a son of Leonard J., Sr. and Patsy Fortner Cothran of Ware Shoals.  He was formerly employed by Walmart Distribution Co.
